Where has the time gone??

So it's been a little while since I've posted anything....

In the last month or so we have been busy little bee's working away at our property. So much to do and not enough hours in the day to do it in. So let's see, since drilling the well we have dug out the hole for the foundation, poured the foundation, back filled and graded the area around the house. We have also set up my brothers travel trailer so that we can stay in it until the house is completed. Yes...we will be staying in a tiny trailer for a few too many months. Luckily it will be summer and we will spend the majority of our time outdoors, lets just say I'm just super excited to move out of the rental and to finally get away from that busy street we lived on.

...so here is the hole after it was dug out...

...footings for the foundation...

...pump truck...

...stem walls...

...waiting for more concrete...

...grading...

...Kaiden and the CAT...

...now just waiting for the flatwork in the garage and then it will be go time on the framing...

From FAB to SHAB...

 -old house-

As you know we sold our house...

And so while we wait for our new home to be built we decided to downsize into a small rental. It wasn't until I stepped into the rental that I started to realize just how nice we had it at the old house. The old house was almost 1800 sq ft of spacious living, located on a very quiet cul-de-sac and the lot was around .60 of an acre, with a huge backyard. We bought the house as a fixer upper and in the short time we owned it we completely updated the whole house. Tile, carpet, trim, doors...you name it we ripped it out and updated it. It was a fun project, but yet so rewarding to take a step back and look at the before and after pictures. It was definitely hard to say good bye to it. Oh well, on to bigger and better things...well eventually.

-rental-

Like I said, we had to downsize until the new house is built. This is the rental in all of its glory, super small (maybe 600 sq ft) and not so nice (hello, it's a rental). The house is located on a super busy road and I think the lot is maybe a total of .10 of an acre (probably less, or atleast it feels that way). Thankfully it has a fenced it yard for Bruiser to run free in, and the cat...well, I'm just hoping she sticks around, she is hands down the BEST mouser I have ever had. So there ya go this is our living situation, which isn't horrible but I must admit, I'm way out of my comfort zone.

DRILLING THE WELL...

This weekend the drilling company placed their trucks and started digging. So of course I made everyone head out to the property and pose for a picture. We didn't have much of an Easter this year with all the packing and moving we have been doing, but the kids were happy that they got their chocolate and I guess that just means next year will have to be over the top.

Road is in!!

Our property was land locked, so we had to excavate and add our own road. This is just a temporary gravel road for the contractors and such, we will go back over it once construction is finished.

Kaiden was so funny, he must have ran up and down the road like 20 times. He is so excited for this new adventure, and can't wait design his new room with "flames"!! And yes that was his idea...

HOME SWEET HOME.... Or should I say dirt?

So here is a look at our 2.5 acres, untouched, full of sagebrush and all sorts of wildlife.

And here is the view, I just love it. I will have to post a night shot, it's even better with the city lights twinkling in the night :)

The start of something new....

So here is the start to my first blog. This is my attempt to keep all of our happening and doings up to date, and since I'm without a scrapbook room for a while, I guess this will be my make shift scrapbook album.

As I am sitting here typing away my mind is racing with the thoughts of all that we have going on. A quick summary to start...we have sold our home, and will hopefully be closing this Wednesday.  EEK!! A few weeks ago we finalized the purchase on the 2.5 acres that we bought in West Richland, on this property we plan to build our dream home. And just this last Wednesday we signed the construction loan and now are patiently waiting the 3-4 weeks the bank needs to close on the loan and begin funding. In the mean time we will be renting out a small prefab in Richland, and when I say small....I mean small! But hey it works, plus I think it will be great motivation to keep on top of the builder and the contractors. So back to packing I go...
